Data Quality Specialist

If you’ve ever thought “this data doesn’t make sense” and wanted to fix it at the root — this role is for you

Join us in building the best everyday bank

Our ambition is to build the best bank in Estonia – and why not the best in the world. To achieve this, we are rethinking everyday banking by leveraging modern technologies and building daily services on a next‑generation banking platform. If you are excited by meaningful challenges and want to shape the future of everyday banking, join us and be part of this journey.

Today, we are the Estonian bank with the broadest international presence, fully owned by Estonian shareholders and operating across nine markets. We have recently expanded our offering with daily payment services, driven by a strong belief that we can deliver more competitive solutions than what is currently available on the market.

How do you create value?

As a Data Quality Specialist, you will join our Data Governance team and take ownership of how data quality actually works across Bigbank.

This is not about fixing data after something breaks. This is about designing how data quality works from the start - across systems, processes, and teams.

You will help make data quality a natural part of everyday work, ensuring that decisions, reporting, and regulatory processes are based on data we can actually trust.

What this role is NOT

  • Fixing data manually after issues appear

  • Running checks without understanding root causes

  • Working only within one system or dataset

What this role IS

  • Designing how data quality is built into systems and processes

  • Preventing issues before they happen

  • Defining what “good data” actually means across the business

You are a true expert in the team when

  • You take ownership of building and evolving the data quality management framework

  • You translate business and regulatory requirements into clear, practical data quality standards

  • You actively drive the embedding of data quality into data flows, systems, and projects - rather than checking it afterwards

  • You help define what “good data” actually means across different business areas

  • You proactively identify risks and focus on preventing issues, not just fixing them later

  • You monitor your domain and drive continuous improvement based on data and insights

Our expectations for you:

  • Proven experience in data quality or data management (regulated environment is a strong plus)

  • Strong data skills, including SQL and working with large datasets

  • Ability to think in systems - understanding how data, processes, and systems connect

  • Ownership mindset - you take responsibility and move things forward

  • Clear communication skills - you can make complex topics understandable and actionable

  • Experience in training or knowledge sharing, or willingness to do so

  • Higher education in a relevant field

  • Fluent in English

Nice to have: experience in regulated environment · data modelling · software/product development · process improvement

This role is best suited for you if

You’ve worked with data hands-on and often thought: “we keep fixing the same issues - why don’t we fix how data works?” - and you want to move from reacting → to designing.
